What will my child learn from attending classes or camps?

Introducing your child to a wide variety of basketball skills and techniques through fun, creative activities. Our motto is Play, Learn, Grow. As your child plays, they begin to learn the sport of basketball and grow as a team through sportsmanship and encouragement. Sportsmanship is our number one priority and we want to make sure that every child is part of the team.

How do Level Classes work? Can I register my child for any level?

Register by age group (not skill level). All levels are beginner-friendly. (Age brackets may vary by city.) Levels:

  • Baby Ballers (2–3½ yrs)
  • Level 1 (4–5 yrs)
  • Level 2 (5–7 yrs)
  • Level 3 (8–11 yrs)
  • Level 4 (11–13 yrs)
Can my child move up a level?

Yes. If your child's skill level is higher, we can manually place them in a higher level class. We still recommend registering by age bracket; some cities require changes through Parks & Rec.

What do I need to bring for every class or camp?

Classes: Water bottle; athletic clothing; comfortable shoes (no sandals).

Camp: Water bottle; athletic clothing; comfortable shoes (no sandals); snack.

Are scholarships or financial aid available?

Yes. We offer scholarships to help young athletes participate. Depending on location, some cities also offer support via Parks & Recreation. Send us a message to learn more.

Does Youth Evolution Basketball offer camps?

Yes. We run 3-Day Camps and Full-Week Camps throughout the year. Summer Camp is our most popular—some cities open registration months in advance.

Is a jersey included?

Some cities include a complimentary jersey (not guaranteed). If you miss the jersey handout, it won't be distributed the following week. You can purchase a jersey by emailing us.

If I bring my own basketball, what size does my child need?
  • Level 1 (Ages 3–4½): Size 6
  • Level 2 (Ages 5–7): Size 6
  • Level 3 (Ages 8–12): Size 6 or 7
Are your classes and camps coed?

Yes, boys and girls.

Why are staff asking for an ID check on the first day?

Not all cities require ID checks. Check-in and check-out are required for safety, and staff maintain emergency contact info.

What happens if it rains? Do classes get canceled?

If it rains, classes are postponed. The canceled class will be added to the end of the session so you don't lose any classes. Please check the Class Status Update page for weekly updates.

What coaching experience do coaches have? Are they background checked?

All coaches are background checked (FBI & Federal Live Scan). Most have a USA Basketball License. We also mentor volunteer coaches.

Why do I see a new coach every week?

Some coaches travel between sites. We strive for consistency but may adjust staffing due to availability while maintaining quality.

Why didn't I receive an email about classes or camps starting?

We recommend adding a phone/calendar reminder when registering. Some cities send welcome letters. You can also check our Registration page for start dates.

Refunds / Cancellations

Youth Evolution Basketball does not control registration payments unless otherwise noted. Send us a message through our contact form if you need help.

Refund Policy (via Contact Form):

  • 15 days or more before start: 90% refund
  • 5–14 days before start: 50% refund
  • Less than 5 days before start: No refunds
Can I try out a class before registering?

No. Due to insurance requirements, registration is required before participation.

Why are coaches combining camps or classes with other age groups?

If minimums aren't met, we may combine groups or offer alternatives. If no placement fits, we'll provide a refund per policy.

Bullying Protocols (Important!)

All participants must feel safe and welcome. Bullying, teasing, and inappropriate language are not tolerated and may result in removal from the program.

Do you offer Zoom classes for 1-on-1 training?

Yes. 1-hour Zoom Session: $80 · 2-hour Zoom Session: $120 (can be split across two days).

Does Youth Evolution Basketball offer Private Lessons or Party/Events?
  • Private Lesson (1-hour minimum): $100 + $25 transportation (includes jersey & basketball)
  • Party/Event (2.5 hours): $225 + transportation (includes jersey & basketball for birthday athlete; extra jerseys available for purchase)

What does my child need to bring at every class?
  • Hat/Visor
  • Water bottle
  • Sunscreen
  • Shin Guards are required (Baby Kickers not required)
  • Cleats are recommended

If you bring your own Soccer Ball, please print the name on it. No sandals or boots allowed.

  • Level 2 (Ages 5–7): Size 5

All coaches are background checked through FBI and Federal Live Scan. Most are NFHS-certified, and we also support volunteers aspiring to become coaches.

No. Due to insurance policy, children must be registered before participating in any class or camp.
